A Remarkable Attempt To Care For Afghanistan's Street Dogs
A herculean effort to save a war-torn country's puppies.
It's a dog eat dog world, but maybe that's changing, one paw at a time.
Here's an incredible video documenting the work being done at the Nowzad dog shelter in Afghanistan. Founded by British Royal Marine Pen Farthing, Nowzad is one of Afghanistan's only dog shelters. Its goal is to sterilize and find homes for street animals.
Just as impressive as Nowzad's humane and noble mission is the fact that it employs the first female Afghan veterinarian in the country.
