AMAZING NATURE : The Milky Way Rising over Mt. Everest.

The most humbling thing I have ever seen was the Milky Way rising over Mt. Everest. Having the tallest peak on earth completely dwarfed by our galaxy was absolutely beautiful. There were no clouds, there was no moon. It was one of the darkest places on the planet, with the perfect conditions for this incredible sight.

On the North Face of Mt. Everest, you can drive up to the basecamp at 17,500 feet to camp. In June of 2013, for our honeymoon, my wife and I spent a night at the basecamp. We timed it such that we would be there during a new moon.

It can be very hit-or-miss to actually see the peak of Mt. Everest, as it is often hiding in clouds. We were quite lucky to get an entire day without a cloud to be seen.
