BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE - Official Teaser (REVIEW, PICTURES) 2015 TRAILER
After the bootlegged version of the first teaser for the most anticipated movie of 2016 hit the web early this morning, Director Zack Synder took to Twitter to release the official teaser himself.
The trailer begins with a shot of a statue of Superman, probably in Metropolis. It seems as though the city is divided on Superman, some praising him for saving them, some questioning his place in this world. It's clear to see that this world has been affected by the events in the last film, Metropolis was destroyed and Superman unwillingly was part of that destruction.
We then see Superman surrounded by citizens, reaching out to the hero, some have some very gothic face paint, could be Halloween?
Next shot is of Henry Cavill in a slightly altered Superman outfit, the colors are a bit more vibrant this time as he struggles to hold up a falling object. Perhaps this is why the citizens are cheering for him above.
Next we see Superman with the military, and it looks as though they are bowing before him, obviously humbled by his presence.
"Demons don't come from hell beneath us, they come from the sky" - Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor obviously referring to Superman. Luthor sees the hero as a problem that needs resolving.
The people of Metropolis being divided on the hero's place in the world is reaffirmed here as Superman's statue has the words "FALSE GOD" vandalized on his chest. In the background we can hear citizens rallying together; "Go home, go home!" Obviously referring to the hero's offworld origin.
Next we have our first look at Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne. "That's how it starts, the fever, the rage, the feeling of powerlessness, thats turns good men.....cruel." That is our first look or hear of Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce's butler and father figure.
Rumors are that Batman is known in Gotham but the rest of the world sees him as an urban myth, a legend created in Gotham by its citizens. The new costume is very reminiscent of Frank Miller's "Dark Knight Returns" Batman costume.
Above we see Batman in some sort of abandoned house, perhaps this is Wayne Manor? Also on the bottom of the front pillar we can see a question mark, that is you turn the exposure up on the trailer, looks slightly green. Possible hint at a Riddler appearance? Or just a fun little easter egg?
Its official people, we're getting The Batwing in this movie, as well as the Batmobile, both which seem to be packing some heavy firepower.
We then see Batman, who is looking bigger than ever. Affleck seriously packed on the muscle necessary to play this character. His size, costume and posture all feel like classic Batman.
Here's a classic shot of the Caped Crusader watching over his city. Now, I can't be the only one who thinks that thing above Batman's shoulder looks slightly like a sniper rifle? Maybe Bats is hunting Superman with Kryptonite bullets? Or maybe its just the top of the building he's stood on.
And here it is, the face off that will have us all flocking to the theater opening day, something we have yet to experience on the big screen, the two biggest superhero's ever created, going head to head. This is clearly the armor Batman equips to stand more of a chance against the nearly invincible Superman, I hope Batman has some nasty tricks up his leave because it will not be an easy fight.
"Tell me, do you bleed? You will" WOW! Affleck's Batman sounds insane! We thought Christian Bale had a bad throat, well have you heard this? My only worry when it came to Affleck's casting was the voice, obviously we've seen the really deep and growly voice done before so I wasn't sure that this film was going to take that direction but I'm glad they have, it sounds great!
Superman plummets to the ground after Batman threatens him with a bloody beating.
And there we go, the first official teaser for "BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE". Guys, I love the trailer, the tone set up is great, very dark, which I love in my DC movies. The tease of the big showdown was chilling and Affleck as Batman looks fantastic, I never had any doubts. Also Chris Terrio's script sounds really good, a lot better than Goyer's for "Man Of Steel".
What do you guys think of the first teaser? Let me know down below in the comments!
