A Photoshopped image of Mr Jubbal holding a Koran and what appears to be a suicide vest circulated the internet on Sunday, and was published by several news sites. Mr Jubbal is well known on social media as a vocal opponent of "Gamergaters", a loosely-connected group of video gamers who despise the influence of women in the industry."I went viral due to a photoshopped image claiming I am a terrorist," Mr Jubbal tweeted to his 10,000 followers. "This image has been used, and placed on the front page of a major Spain newspaper - putting me as one of the people behind terrorist attacks."
That paper, La Razón, later apologised to Mr Jubbal on Twitter. But the image appeared on several other news sites, including several in Italian and Spanish. Mr Jubbal said the publications were libellous and warned he may take legal action.
"This whole thing puts me in a bad position in the sense, where I could be harmed and/or hurt due to this," he said.

Veerender Jubbal is a writer and activist, not a jihadist. He's a Sikh, not a Muslim. He lives in Canada and has never been to Paris.
And yet his photograph appeared on the front page of a major Spanish newspaper, accused of being among the perpetrators of Friday's devastating attacks on the French capital.
