Enrique Iglesias is recovering after his fingers were sliced when he grabbed a [camera] drone during a concert in Tijuana, Mexico.
A representative for the singer says in a statement to The Associated Press that Iglesias was "semi-treated" after the accident at the side of the stage to stop the bleeding on Saturday night (May 30). He was advised to end the show but went on to perform for more 30 minutes.
Concertgoers at Plaza de Toros de Playas posted photos on social media of Iglesias with blood all over his white T-shirt. Iglesias' rep says the 40-year-old was later rushed to the airport and he's now seeing a specialist in Los Angeles.
During live shows, Iglesias sometimes grabs a drone to show the audience a "point of view" angle.
Update: A tweet from Iglesias' rep shows a photo of him onstage after the incident. He apparently drew a heart using his own blood in a show of dedication toward his loyal fans.
Here is video of Iglesias getting treated on the side of the stage after the injury and then returning to the stage to sing his chart-topping hits "Bailando" and "I Like It." His next scheduled tour date is Mexico City on July 3.
